Matt has become a principal figure in employer brand development since he joined Bayard over 17 years ago from Siegel & Gale and founded the agency’s Employer Brand practice. He also created the field’s first EB think tank and Design Lab. Matt is currently Bayard’s Chief Creative Officer, where he’s known for innovation in EVP and EB strategy. Matt has helped Fortune 1000 clients, start-ups, and not-for-profits build world stage EVP and EB programs, over 200 of them. He is a sought-after speaker, critic, and writer with numerous creative awards.
Matt has worked notable companies such as Disney, Disney Cruise Lines, Harley-Davidson, Sony, A&E Networks, Gallo Winery, Hanes Brands, IMAX, Sharp, LG, AOL, JPMorganChase, Ernst &Young, Lockheed Martin, Vail Resorts International, Amtrak, Condé Nast, Symantec, AIG, Expedia Group, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, INTEGRIS Health, University of Kentucky, Pizza Hut, Carmax, Zendesk, Minnesota State Colleges & Universities, and many others.
Before joining Bayard, Matt worked at Siegel & Gale, The Brand Union, Wechsler Ross, and David Morris creative. At David Morris Creative, he founded the firm’s interactive practice in 1998. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science from New York University, Stern School of Business with honors and his MFA from School of Visual Arts, MFA Design program. Matt is a member of the International Honor Society for Economics, which he is still passionate about today even as a Creative. He participates in numerous societies for Advertising, Marketing, Design, Employer Branding, and Creative Strategy.
Matt has been a guest lecturer at the School of Visual Arts, CUNY, Parson School of Design, where he taught Brand Design, SUNY Purchase, and SUNY Buffalo. He has published work in the AIGA, Communication Arts, and numerous employer branding forums.
Outside of his professional work, Matt co-wrote Tangerines & Tea, a children’s book published by Abrams publishers, and has his pro-bono design and artwork on permanent display at Columbia University, The New York Public Library, and the Schomburg Center in New York. Early in his career, Matt was a management consultant and had a crucial role in developing RFID — the technology behind EZ-Pass. Matt has 3 patents pending and has written two novels and one screenplay. Matt lives in Hoboken, NJ, with his wife, dog Benny (a puggle), and his two sons.
